What is Interactive Aura Photography?

Research in Auraphotography paved the way for advances in Interactive Auraphotography; these techniques share strong similarities due to their close histories.

Auraphotography, measures your energetic and auric qualities and exposes that on a single Polaroid photograph. However, this only shows your aura for your current feelings and emotions, and does not represent subsequent changes.

Interactive Auraphotography, on the other hand, measures and continues to measure this data in real time. This information is then displayed on a computer or television screen, allowing us to see changes in your emotional state live as it happens. As the video-feed is being shown, the person and their personal aura colors may come to considerably large changes and can also show the instability of ones aura, especially if the emotional state of that person is not in balance. Generally the aura picture does change with every emotional or mental change of the user; this enables us to see the kinds of effects that therapy and adjustments of personal vibrations can have upon ourselves.

What is an AURA?

In the temporary use of language there is the word "Aura", but the meaning can be quite different. For many people, the Aura is only the radiance of human beings. For scientists, it is a concrete, existing energy field that surround living creatures. The Aura is formed by subtle color radiances which surround the body of a human being. These radiances can be perceived by a psychic. Each color signifies a certain vibration which has different meanings.

The Aura, which is connected with the activity of the chakra (Sanskrit for "energy wheel"), reflects the individual state of consciousness. In that case, the colors of the Aura give us information about the quality of consciousness, as well as one's emotions, thoughts, abilities and the vital energies of a person.

The history of Auras goes far back into the past. Natural tribes, the Christian Mystics of the Middle Ages, painters, and artists of all ages have shown the Aura in a radiant, shining ray of lights around human being, animal or plant. This information, which can be perceived by sensitive and psychic people, has been researched and proved scientifically in the last decades. Modern scientists measure the Aura as a electromagnetic field around living creatures.

The first Aura photo was made by the genius scientist Nicola Tesla in 1891. The Soviet Union did research in several tests in the 1960's. From 1975, the Aura was measured and photographed in universities with great precision worldwide.

In the 1970's and early 1980's, there were some "garage" companies in the area which is now known as Silicon Valley; Apple Computers is the most famous of them. While others were involved with information technology and were developing products for the age of spacecrafts which we know well today, one man looked into a different direction.

During this time, Guy Coggins discovered Kirlian Photography and was fascinated by it. So much so that he made his ability to see Auras, his wish to make alternative consciousness available for everybody, and merged it with his technical skills to develop the first Aura camera. Because of Guy's hard work, it wouldn't be possible to think of Aura photography without him; in fact, his second name is "Aura"! While he works on developing new Aura cameras, he works at his window to the soul while he improves his techniques even more.

 Guy Coggins himself says:

"When I was starting with Aura photography many years ago I had a vision of that what would be possible with my technology. I have gotten enormous satisfaction from the knowledge that the Coggins Aura Camera has changed life everywhere on the world. Now my second vision has become also true.

"I knew that the human energy field is in constant motion and I wanted to be able to measure this energy and all its changes while they were happening. I knew that the ability to do this would be a powerful tool for healers, therapists and people of all kind."

It is now possible to not only make your usual photos of an Aura, but to display the Aura with computer technology on a computer screen, interactively.

How Does Auraphotography Work?

The human being is a complex organism, full of emotion, intelligence and spirit, and these qualities are reflected in his or her energy field, or Aura. One's Aura can change from time to time, as a result of ones own experiences and views on life. However, the overall aura can remain the same, or can be subject to major changes.

Auraphotography and its many, various derivatives (Aura Video, WinAura) is based on the understanding of modern technology combined with the information that past cultures have known for millennia. This includes Kirlian Photography, electronic acupuncture, biofeedback measurements, as well as old healing methods like acupuncture, acupressure, Ayurveda, and so forth. Using this wealth of knowledge, we can create technologies that can help us view the colored radiant Aura and allow us to open up new possibilities of perception for our inner worlds. The method our technologies use to read ones Aura is known as "Biofeedback", since a physical reading of one's bio-signs is the main method of a Aura analysis.

We use a hand sensor, seen on the image to the right. A person would put their left (or right) hand onto the hand sensors. This in turn would allow a particular product to measure the standardized biofeedback parameter. The hand sensor itself has various contact points on them; these are connected with certain organs of the body, as well as measure the electromagnetic field of the user and can thus deliver information about the energetic and auric qualities of that person. The hand sensor can also measure deviations in temperature, humidity and static electricity in the environment and the person, allowing for greater precision in data gathering. These data parameters are then projected as a radiant, colored aura field around the body on either a Polaroid photo or onto a computer or television screen. In no time thereafter, a brilliant color photo or computer print out can be presented to the user.

In short, these kinds of biofeedback probes can pick up your spiritual energy. The camera or video device can then display this information as a colorful field around your body. The colors actually reflect your spiritual and auric state.

Reading Auras

Every color has its unique qualities and purposes. Imagine a color wheel. Each color is a location on the wheel. No color is better than another. Each has its inherent lessons, its positive and challenging traits.

The right side, picture left of the aura photo: Indicates oneís expressive active or masculine side, the personality one projects outward and how other people see us. The color in this position is indicative of the persona or how we project ourselves to others. This part of the picture also represents the recent past. If there is no color in this position or a hole, so to speak, this may indicate a loss of some sort, or a wish to let go of the past, perhaps a recent move, or a profound personal transformation. A hole may indicate a great and abrupt change of some sort.

The left side, picture right, of the aura photo: Indicates oneís feminine, receptive or feeling side, the part of the personality that receives, feels, accepts, and imagines. The color in this position is also indicative of what one is creating for him/herself in the near future. If there is an abundance of color here, the person may be focusing most of their attention in the future. If there is a lack of color here, the person may be dwelling on past memories and events.

The center of the aura photo, above the personís head:
Indicates what the person is experiencing in the present moment. If there is a band of color stretching like an arc over the top of the photo, this indicates what the personís hopes, goals and aspirations are. For example: an indigo or blue arc may indicate the personís highest aspirations to be spiritual or artistic. A red arc would indicate more monetary or business goals.

Auras that expand out: indicate spiritual expansion, expressiveness, extroversion, social activity, and desire for connection, gregariousness, and positive outlook, sense of adventure.

Auras closer in: indicate inward focus, sensitivity, and desire for solitude, meditation, peace, tranquility, or rest. This could mean a need to express or to move out.

THE CHAKRAS OR MAJOR ENERGY CENTERS:

The Throat Center (self expression) The color on the throat is traditionally the energy being expressed. The color in this area is an expression of the throat chakra, the center of communication. If a bright ball of color appears here, you may feel a great need to talk and communicate. You may be opening up to your spirituality and wish to share your profound insights with others. You may feel a rush of artistic inspiration or the need to sing.

The Heart Center (empathy) The color in the heart center expresses the energy in the heart chakra, the center of unconditional love, empathy and compassion. If a bright ball of color appears here you are indeed a humanitarian, and would save the world if you could. You may be a gifted spiritual energy worker, counselor, or teacher. From the heart center we are able to see the good in everyone, and can let love energy flow from our hearts to nurture other beings.

The Solar Plexus Center (self-esteem) The color in the solar plexus represents the center vibration of your being. The Solar Plexus is associated with power and wealth, and is called the money pot by the Hindus. This is the center of self-esteem and ego. If there is a big ball of bright color here you are probably learning about your own sense of personal power.

The Second Center (creativity) This energy center of the body is about creativity, sociability, oneís emotional life, and sexuality. Sex is a profound source of creativity, joy and pleasure that is nurturing and bonding. Many religions consider sex sinful, which can create a source of guilt, fear and shame. When the energy in this area is balanced, the person will probably have a positive attitude toward basic love. The second chakra center is the position from which one reaches out, expands and relates to others.

The Root Center (Material World) The color of the root area is traditionally the energy of material reality. People with strong energy in this center usually show a red color and have good survival skills. This is also the center of manifestation. If you are trying to succeed in the world either by making more money, establishing a business, or accumulating possessions, you will be focusing your energy here. This is also the place from which passion flows; the source of power and ego development.

Color Interpretation

The following descriptions of the aura colours can give you a general insight into interpretation of auras. Please be aware of the fact that colors, as well as shapes and combinations of colors play an imminent role in aura interpretation. The right side shows the male active energy while the left side indicates the female passive energy. The meaning of the different segments are explained in the segment section. Also bear in mind that these color definitions do not apply to children.

	Red: desire, vitality, power, the urge to win, to have success, intensity of experience, action, doing, love of sports, struggle, competition, force of will, leadership, strength, courage, passion, eroticism, earthiness, practicality, desire for possessions, sense of adventure, the survival instinct. A majority of young children and teenagers especially boys, have bright red auras.
	Orange: creativity, the emotions, confidence, ability to relate to others in an open and friendly manner, sociability, intuition or gut feeling. The ability to reach out and extend one's self towards others. Many talented sales people, entrepreneurs, and people who deal with the public have orange auras.
	Yellow: sunny and enthusiastic, cheerful, bright, great sense of humor and fun, optimism, intellectuality, openness to new ideas, happiness, warmth, relaxation. Uninhibited expansiveness, release of burdens, problems and restrictions. Talent for organization. Hope and expectation, inspiration. People with yellow auras encourage and support others by naturally being themselves; they radiate like the sun and they also may have a great ability to analyze complex concepts.
	Green: perseverance, tenacity, firmness, patience, sense of responsibility and service, self assertiveness, high ideals and aspirations, dedication, puts high value on work and career. Ambitious desire for respectability and personal attainment, deeply focused and adaptable. Green is also the color of growth and of dedicated parents, social workers, counselors, psychologists, and other persons focusing on creating positive change in the world.
	Blue: Depth of feeling, devotion, loyalty, trust, desire to communicate. Puts great importance on personal relationships. Empathic. May be a dreamer or have artistic ability. Possibly tend to put the needs of others before their own and may ave the ability to meditate, and live in the moment. Blue may be emotionally sensitive, intuitive, inwardly focused, may enjoy solitude, non-competitive activities, be receptive and desire unity, peace, love and affection in relationships with others. They need a calm and tranquil environment. You'll find many blue artists, poets, writers, musicians, philosophers, serious students, spiritual seekers, and people looking for truth, justice and beauty in everything.
	Violet or Purple: magical, original, tends to be unconventional, often has psychic abilities, unusual charisma and charm, the uncommon ability to make their dreams come true, or manifest their desires in the material world, wish to charm and delight others and can easily connect with higher planes of consciousness. Playful, nonjudgmental, tolerant of others' eccentricities. Sensitive and compassionate. People who have purple auras appreciate tenderness and kindness in others. Not especially practical, they tend to prefer to live in a dream world of their own creation. You'll find many "violet or purple" entertainers, movie stars, free thinkers, visionaries, revolutionaries, and otherwise singular and magnetic individuals. Dark violet could indicate a need to take charge of their life, or perhaps, that the person needs time to spiritually ground himself or herself.
	White: spiritually motivated, the ability to be open and receptive to the divine, or spiritual world. Can merge with ALL THAT IS. Probably unconcerned with worldly matters or ambition. Inner illumination, cosmic wisdom characterise the white energy. Young children, energy workers, and people who meditate intensely often will show bright white in their auras. Generally, white does not often appear in the auras of adults.

Sometimes very strange and mysterious images, patterns, and shapes appear on the aura photos which defy explanation. It's all part of the great mystery of life.
